ACES SET TO BREAK GROUND FOR NEW BISHOPVILLE EXPANSION
In December 2023, the Delmarva Aces moved into their brand new facility on Rt. 113 and Hammond Road in Bishopville, MD. The program spent almost 10 years at their location in Berlin, MD, before planning, designing and building the Delmarva Aces Baseball Complex in northern Worcester County. The first building built has 12,320 sq. feet of total space over two levels with 20-foot ceilings. It has 8,000 sq. feet of turf with five batting cages, six pitching mounds and a lot of open area for training. There are three offices, three bathrooms, a front lobby and two levels of parent observatory areas.
The first building was Phase 1 of this project but the program has always kept chugging along for more space and expansion. We’ve spent the last two years planning for this moment.
Enter Phase 2.
Fast forward to the present and the Delmarva Aces are only a short time away from breaking ground for their next big movement.
In the newest expansion piece, an 8,500 sq. foot building is being erected directly next to the current one. The new building will be adjoined to the current one and will be turfed with five batting cages – four of which are regular 12 x 35 foot batting cages and one that will be a 16 x 70 data cage. The data cage will turn into a pitching and hitting lab, where we will have Trackman, Hittrax and Velo Boards to enhance everything with true analytics. The first part of the building will also have a small parent lobby, a waiting area and two bathrooms.
The second part of the new building will see a 4,200 sq-ft multi-purpose area with hard rubber flooring and 20-foot ceilings. This area will be used for all speed/strength training, as well as open space for additional use.
Apart of the second phase project, a massive 80 x 24 outdoor batting cage is being erected to accompany four 12 x 40 cages. There will also be three professional quality dirt pitching mounds built towards the south end of the parcel. All Aces players will now have the ability to train outside using both of these areas. The baseball training can continue throughout the summer months and in outdoor settings year-around.
The current building will change slightly as all batting cages in the main training area will be moved into the Phase 2 building. This leaves the entire 80 x 94 space wide open to better enhance our infield and pitching training. The 7,520 sq. foot area will also be an open area that can host games and true simulated training. Live BP just became a whole lot more game like as well! The lounge, upstairs and lounge cage room in the current building will stay the same as it currently is.
Fall 2025 is going to be awesome!
