Steve Baughan

Steve Baughan joined the Delmarva Aces North training staff in August 2021. The Delaware State University Assistant Coach assists with hitting and fielding during the winter academy. The Richmond, VA native completed his collegiate baseball career after a season at the University of Mount Olive in Mount Olive, N.C. He batted .289 with eight home runs and 43 runs batted in in 36 games for the Trojans during the 2021 season. Prior to competing at Mount Olive, Baughan played four seasons at Delaware State’s Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference rival Norfolk State. In 2019 as a junior at Norfolk State, he was an All-MEAC and VaSID all-state selection.

Baughan led the MEAC with 22 doubles, tied for the second-most in a season in school history and ranked fifth nationally in doubles per game during the ’19 season. He also ranked second in the MEAC in slugging percentage (.560) and total bases (98), tied for fourth in homers (five), eighth in triples (three) and 10th in batting (.314) that season. During his sophomore year in 2018, he was voted to the VaSID All-State second team and led the MEAC and set a new single-season NSU Division I-era record with nine home runs.
